Inside, The Rookery is all period charm. Polished wood panelling, stone-flagged floors, open fires and genuine antique furniture give the place a homely atmosphere. Each of the 33 rooms are different. All are named after people who actually lived in the buildings over the past 250 years.
The hotel is full of oil paintings and rich colours. Guest rooms are beautiful with plump cushions, silk, velvets and smooth cottons that adorn the stunning beds. Deep roll top baths grace many of the bathrooms along with fluffy towels and Aveda toiletries to pamper yourself.
The Rooks Nest with its galleried lounge and incredible views of London from the 40ft spire or the Sir Walter De Manny with its panelled wall sitting room and 4 poster bed (deeply relaxing) have to be two of the most romantic rooms in London.
