Hotel du Vin is housed behind the classical Georgian façade of the old Brakspears Brewery - one of Henley’s most historically significant buildings. The location is truly wonderful, just 50 yards from the famous riverside moorings.
In keeping with the Hotel du Vin theme, each of the 43 bedrooms and suites is named after a celebrated wine house. Inside, walls are painted in fresh hues of straw, olive and simple white, offset against the dark exposed wooden beams, iron pillars and polished oak furniture. Crisp white Egyptian bed linen, delicious duvets and bouncy cushions lend each enormous bed a truly soporific quality!
The six suites include three stunning Studio Suites (Comtes du Champagne, Ruinart and Laurent Perrier) each with their own outdoor bath terraces overlooking Henley’s red roof-tops and the Thames beyond.
In the Dom Perignon suite there is an eight-foot wide bed offering acres of sparkling white Egyptian linen, adorned with velvet cushions in plush royal purple to match the wool curtains. Over the bed hangs a huge clear and purple glass chandelier. A few steps up from this point is the third floor, a smaller mezzanine lounge area perched amidst the beams.
Hang out in the stylish champagne bar, snug or cigar / billiards room after a delicious meal in the bistro and you will never want to leave this wonderful place.
