The cottage dates from the 17th century and has 1676 inscribed in the lintel above the front door. The hamlet of Nottington was where George III took the waters at the stunning hexagonal spa house, visible from the cottage garden. The deep inglenook fireplace in the TV room is of historical importance whilst the sitting room fireplace is thought to be of Jacobean origin.
The kitchen/dining room is a high ceiling, triple aspect room with plenty of wow factor from its antler chandelier to its free standing farmhouse furniture and table that will seat 10. The Lacanche range cooker will keep serious foodies from boredom with plenty of bakeware and cookery books to conjure with.
The cottage has a stylish yet relaxed feel with lots of quirky touches. The area is superb with the sandy beach of Weymouth and Olympic sailing facilities of Portland just 2 miles away and the Jurassic coast and Chesil beach are within a few miles drive. The stunning old village of Abbotsbury is just 7 miles away en route to the bustling Saturday morning market at Bridport. Lots to do if you can drag yourself away from the lovely cottage garden.
